The Egyptian Orthopaedic Journal (EOJ) is the official publication of the Egyptian Orthopaedic Association (EOA). Established in 1966 in Alexandria, EOJ has played a pivotal role in advancing orthopaedic knowledge and research. The founding Chief Editor, Professor Mohamed Amin Reda (who died in December 1998), was instrumental in shaping the journal’s reputation both nationally and internationally through his dedication and editorial leadership.
In 1999, the EOA board relocated the journal’s publication to Cairo, starting with Volume 34, to ensure continued academic excellence. EOJ remains committed to fostering innovation and scholarly exchange by disseminating high-quality research that reflects both national and international advancements in orthopaedic surgery.
The EOJ is a peer-reviewed, quarterly, open-access journal. The journal publishes original research papers, review articles, case reports, letters to the Editor, ideas, and innovations detailing novel and effective solutions to orthopedic surgical problems from all over the world. The journal aims to provide a platform for exchanging information about all aspects of orthopedic surgery worldwide. The EOJ was hosted by Wolters Kluwer Medknow from June 2012 to December 2024, then it moved to the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB) in January 2025.
